After talking to her doctor about her families seemingly constant gastrointestinal upsets, Melissa realized that the cause of their problem might actually lie with her well water. Her doctor told her that many wells do harbor bacteria and that the state of Connecticut recommends bacterial testing once a year.  That's when Melissa contacted Eastern Water Solutions.

A technician happened to be in Melissa's area at the time of her call and was able to take a water sample for her that day.  When the results came back 24 hours later, she got confirmation that her water did contain a large amount of coliform bacteria.

Eastern Water promptly performed a well cholrination at Melissa's residence to remove the bacteria from the well. The chlorination process circulates chlorinated water from the well to the water tank and then into the home and through all fixtures and pipes where it sits for 12-24 hours undisturbed allowing time for the bacteria to be eliminated.

A follow up bacteria test a Melissa's home the next week showed that there was no longer any bacteria in her water. Better yet, everyone in her family hasn't had any gastrointestinal issues since!

A first-time homebuyer reached out to Eastern Water looking to have their well inspected, most people get them done prior to buying a new home so they know what they are getting into. It's a good thing they did it too because upon inspection it was found that neither of the wells was above grade. The new owners opted to get a bacteria test after the technician explained that when the wells aren't above grade it makes it more likely for outside contaminants to get into the water supply. Now a few days later after the initial inspection explaining about the wells needing to be brought above grade and the report came back with the water test results showing that there wasn't any bacteria present, Eastern got another call asking when we could come back out to make their home even safer! 

A long time customer reached out looking to upgrade the control panel for their sewage pump system that we had recommended on previous visits, they had been putting off doing a system upgrade to the entire condominium complex, but when they finally decided they couldn't hold out anymore they called Eastern Water in to do the job. Our technicians installed a custom duplex alternating sewage panel with a level transducer and by doing this Eastern was able to help them provide more efficient and controlled operations of the sewage pump system they have. There is nothing like buying a house with water treatment in it and having no idea what you're getting into, it's more common then you think and not too difficult to rectify. A similar issue happened to a new homeowner over in Cos Cob, they gave Eastern Water a call and we had one of our technicians stop in to take a look! They walked the new homeowners through they systems they had in place, did an in house water test for them to show them why at least some of the equipment was necessary, the rest of the equipment they explained that they could show it was needed as well but it would require sending tests out to the lab to verify. The homeowner at the time declined when we explained that the previous owner had just had some done not long ago and we had the results on hand to show them. The technicians then walked them through basic maintenance for the system such as adding salt to their system and how to change the filters if so required. They let them know that based on past experience with the house it only seemed to require a yearly checkup to be sure all was running properly but if they had any additional questions or issues to just give us another call.

Last year the new homeowners gave us a call for an estimate for a well abandonment right over the new spot they were hoping to get a pool put in on. It took a while for a follow-up but after carefully considering their options and diligently saving for their new pool the homeowners finally decided to call back to continue with the project of the well abandonment. The job was difficult and time consuming but, in the end, Eastern Water was able to remove the old pump, dig down and cut the casing of the old well and fill in what was left in order to get them where they wanted to be.
